The Christina Y. Chen Scholarship

Christina was part of the Asian Pacific American Community Center (APACC) Board for nearly 10 years before she passed in 2021. As an immigration lawyer, she often provided pro bono services for low income clients.
She believed education uplifted individuals and their families to better circumstances because her own life reflected this American Dream. She believed low-income immigrant children and children of immigrants deserved an opportunity to achieve that dream as well.
What's the fund for?
In her honor, APACC created the Christina Y. Chen Scholarship Fund for our youth program families because Christina was a tireless supporter of APACC’s youth programs. In her memory, many individual donors and other supporters have donated in the last year to this new scholarship fund and continue to donate!
The goal for the money is to benefit APACC youths entering high school based on a short essay and certain criteria. If they meet additional eligibility criteria, the youth are welcome to continue applying for the scholarship throughout high school and even college.
